JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School Board gave kudos to Gussner Elementary School Monday evening for placing highly on the ND Accountability Index (NDAI).
The NDSAI was created using an index that awards points to schools based on various accountability elements including student growth, engagement, proficiency and more.
Superintendent Dr. Rob Lech says Gussner Elementary placed highly according to the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction.
Dr. Lech added that while Gussner was the only Jamestown school on the index, it’s typical for larger districts to have schools in all three areas.
He mentioned that while the recognition should be respected for Gussner Elementary, it was important to remember other schools in the district for their achievements.
In other school business, the board approved the design agreement with JLG Architects in the amount of $413,000 for Jamestown Athletics improvements. They also unanimously approved the updated Capital Projects plan.
The board also approved the Joint Powers Agreement with the City of Jamestown for a School Resource Officer, which was approved by the Jamestown City Council in September.
