VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Hi-Liners tennis team was in action over the weekend in Fargo for the EDC Tournament and Seth Zeltinger and Kai Kringlie qualified for state in the doubles tournament.

They earned a bye in the opening round and in the second round, they cruised in the first set.  In the second set, Davies fought tough and stayed in the match, but the Hi-Liners closed it in short order going 6-0, 6-2.

In the quarterfinals, Zeltinger and Kringlie lined-up against half of the doubles team they lost to in the team tournament and the #6 seed from Red River.  The Valley City pair took the first set 6-3 and cleaned up in the second set 6-4 to qualify for the state tournament.

They were unable to win in the semifinal match which put them in the third place game versus a different pair of Fargo Davies players. It was a very tightly contested match and both duos played very well, but the Hi-Liners were too much. Valley City took 3rd place by a score of 6-2, 7-5.

Zeltinger and Kringlie will play the six seed from the west from Bismarck High on Friday, October 8th at 10:00 a.m.
