MANDAN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown boy’s soccer team saw its season come to a close on Saturday in Mandan as the Blue Jays lost 2-0 to Bismarck Legacy in a state qualifier match.
Legacy put the pressure on Jamestown from the start, taking a 1-0 lead into the halftime break before notching another goal 12 minutes into the second to end the Blue Jays’ season. Ryan Larson had a busy afternoon in goal, making 11 total saves despite the loss. Legacy moves onto the state tournament, which is being held this week in Jamestown. The Sabres will be the #4 seed out of the West.
For the Blue Jays, they wrap up their season with a 5-9-2 overall record and a 4-8-2 mark in the WDA. Jarrett Zalumskis led Jamestown with a team-high six goals and six points during the regular season, and Jack Paulson added four more goals for the Jays. The 2-0 loss to Legacy in the state qualifier was the first match all year that Jamestown lost by more than one goal.
