HUNTER, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Senior Running back Michael Clifton scored three TD’s and Sophomore QB Grady Shipman passed for one TD and ran for another as Carrington defeats the Jaguars 44-12 Friday night in Class 11B NE football. Carrington now 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the NE, NC drops to 2-4 overall and 1-4 in the NE.

The Cardinals scored first when Clifton ran in from 5-yards out, Jack Paulson’s extra point was good making the score 7-0 with about four minutes played in the first quarter. The Jags got on the scoreboard about three minutes later when Jack Metzger connected with Jacob Larsen for a 48-yard TD reception, the extra point was no good making the score 7-6. The Cardinals would score four unanswered TD’s and go on the win the important contest with playoff implications. Paulson was 5-of-6 for extra points and made a 30-yard field goal, his second of the year.

Next up for Carrington will be Friday, Oct. 8th at home against Thompson, KDAK will have the game starting at 630pm pregame.
