JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Building on a foundation of HOPE.

That’s the St. John’s Academy’s slogan for this year’s H.O.P.E. (Help Offer Private Education) Dinner & Auction set for Saturday, October 2nd. The first HOPE Dinner & Auction, an idea originated by then principal, Sister Dorothy Zeller, was a spaghetti supper and auction in 1992 at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

The 31st event will feature preschool through 8th grade students as they ask for the community’s support of the annual fund.

“All funds raised will go directly to support the St. John’s Academy’s Annual Fund,” Principal Jeff Trumbauer states. “[this] helps keep tuition low.”

Development Coordinator Peggy Etzold says all needs of the school can be helped through the dinner and auction.

She added that the event and it’s success is possible thanks to volunteers and participants over the last 29 years.

Social will begin at 4:30 PM with dinner served at 6:15 PM. The event is semi-formal and there will be several live auction items, raffle, games, and entertainment. Silent auction will open Thursday, September 30th virtually at orrauctioneers.com.

No physical tickets will be given this year. Visit stjohnsacademynd.org for more information.

St. John’s Academy has been in operation since 1890 in Jamestown.
