(NewsDakota.com) – The LaMoure/Litchville-Marion football team knocked off the No. 1 team in the state Friday night, and further tightened an already tight race for the playoffs in Region 1 9-Man.
The Loboes stunned the state Friday with a 26-14 victory over previously undefeated and No. 1-ranked Wyndmere-Lidgerwood.
The win improves LaMoure to 5-2 on the season. Wyndmere-Lidgerwood falls to 6-1. Region 1 now has two teams tied at 6-1 and three teams tied at 5-2 with just two games remaining. Only the top four teams at the end of the season qualify for the playoffs.
Wyndmere-Lidgerwood and Napoleon-Gackle Streeter are both 6-1, and play each other the final game of the season.
LaMoure, Hankinson and South Border are all 5-2, and Richland is right behind at 4-3.
LaMoure’s remaining games are at Sargent Central on Oct. 5, and at home against Richland on Oct. 12. Both those games can be heard on Ted 98.3 and streamed at NewsDakota.com
