JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – North Dakota’s waterfowl season opens for residents Sept. 25, while nonresidents may begin hunting waterfowl Oct. 2.
Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says hunters shouldn’t see any significant changes from the previous seasons.
Leier added that waterfowl hunters need to also be mindful of the aquatic nuisance species (ANS) regulations and do their part in preventing the spread into or within North Dakota.
Cattails and bulrushes may be transported as camouflage on boats. All other aquatic vegetation must be cleaned from boats prior to transportation into or within North Dakota.
Drain plugs on boats must remain pulled when a boat is in transit away from a water body.
In other outdoor information, Leier says now is the time to plan for assistance the Game & Fish Department can provide when it comes to protecting hay and other feed supplies from deer and other big game animals this winter.
