JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School Board unanimously approved their general fund budget in the amount of $34,567,686.72 Monday evening.
While a preliminary budget has been considered and approved on July 19th, a formal budget approval needed a budget hearing. During the preliminary discussions, the board approved to increase the budget to 102 mills.
Superintendent Dr. Rob Lech says this will be a small increase from the previous three years.
Dr. Lech says this does not include any assessment change on homes in the school district.
A majority of the approved general budget is dedicated to employee salaries and benefits, followed by purchases services, professional and technical services, and supplies and materials.
Business Manager Sally Ost stated they had a unique opportunity with ESSER funding to spread it around the budget for this year. She added this was utilized well in the proposed general budget.
The board unanimously approved the budget for the 2021-2022 school year.
