Oakes handled business and got their first district win of the season against Edgeley in straight sets. The Tornadoes won their sets 25-15, 25-9, and 25-23, respectively.

Oakes got it done thanks to their senior leaders Sam Hermes and Abby Cox. The two seniors attacked early and often helping Oakes in crucial moments that helped the team keep the Rebels at arms length.

In the first set, Oakes got off to a hot start, but midway through the set, Edgeley was able to get back in it. However, they were able to rattle off eight straight points to end the set. They carried that momentum into the second set and dominated and didn’t look back. In the third set, the Rebels were the ones that got off to a hot start leading Oakes 8-1 right out of the gate. The Tornadoes were able to come back with runs of their own and made some timely attacks.
