JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) –  Jamestown’s volleyball team provided a gusty performance on Tuesday night at Jerry Meyer Arena as the Jays stayed perfect in the WDA with a 3-1 victory (25-16, 25-12, 21-25, 26-24) over Mandan.

#2 Jamestown made quick work of Mandan through the first two sets before the Braves rallied in the middle of set three to change the momentum of the match heading into the fourth. In the fourth set, the Blue Jays were on the verge of going to a fifth when Katie Trumbauer recorded a big kill to send the fourth set to overtime. Jamestown would then take the next two points behind Aspyn Peterson at the service line to win the match. Peterson had her lone service ace of the evening during overtime in the fourth set.

Jamestown was led offensively by senior Hunter Petersen who recorded 13 kills in the win. Junior Bernadette Newman tallied double digit kills as well for the Jays with 10, and four other Jamestown attackers had at least three kills. At the service line, the Blue Jays finished with 10 aces and 10 errors with Makenna Nold and Trumbauer each having four aces.

#1 Bismarck Century comes to Jerry Meyer Arena on Thursday night for a battle of the top two teams in the state. Jamestown is now 10-1 overall and 4-0 in the WDA.
