JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Blue Jay boys soccer team played another close match at home on Thursday night but Jamestown was unable to prevail as Mandan’s lone goal held up in a 1-0 victory for the Braves.
Jamestown’s offense put the pressure on Mandan goalkeeper Will Mickelson early and often throughout the match, forcing Mickelson to make 12 total saves to earn the shutout. Mandan’s lone goal came in the 45th minute from Andrew Catalano on an assist by Ty Berg.
Jamestown drops to 2-6-0 overall on the season and in the WDA. All six losses on the year for Blue Jays have been by one goal, and they welcome Bismarck Legacy to town on Saturday at 2 pm for another conference matchup.
