N.D. (AP) Despite one of the lowest counts of mosquitoes in North Dakota history health officials say 74 human cases of West Nile have been reported statewide.
Officials say 11 cases have been reported in Burleigh County, 9 in Barnes County, 8 in Stutsman and 7 in Dickey County.
The virus is carried by mosquitoes. Last year, the state had 4 human cases of West Nile. The highest human case total in the state was 617 in 2003.
