JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – On a beautiful Friday night for football the Jamestown Blue Jays opened up Charlotte and Gordon Hansen Stadium with an emphatic victory, defeating Turtle Mountain 49-8.

The offense was clicking from the start for the Jays as Jamestown scored touchdowns on the first five drives of the game offensively. The scoring started in the first quarter when Jakob Schempp burst into the endzone on a three-yard carry. Later in the first, Payton Hochhalter connected on one of his three touchdown passes on the night with a five-yard pass to Adam Kallenbach to cap an 80-yard drive.

Jamestown led 14-0 after one but quickly scored again in the second when Hochhalter hit Brode Hillstrom for a 26-yard TD. Hillstrom ended the day with three total catches, including one 50-yard reception. Kallenbach would score his second touchdown of the game in the middle of the second quarter on an eight-yard rush to help the Blue Jays go in front 28-0. Jamestown would score once more before halftime when Paris Ndikum ran one in from five yards out as the Jays went into the break holding a 35-0 advantage.

With the clock running the entire second half, Jamestown would score two more times, once on an 11-yard touchdown catch by Preston Kroeber for his second TD of the year. The other touchdown came from Kallenbach on the defensive side on a 70-yard interception return for his third score of the evening. Turtle Mountain’s only touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a rush from Blue Kellogg.

The Blue Jays are now 2-0 overall and in the WDA this year and welcome #1 ranked Bismarck St. Mary’s to Rollie Greeno Field next Friday night as the two top teams in Class A are scheduled to square off. Kickoff is set for 7 pm and you can listen on Jamestown 107.1 or watch HERE.
