CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Senior running back Michael Clifton ran the ball 17 times for 160 yards and three touchdowns to help Carrington defeat the Aggies of Park River Area Friday night 44-6 in Class 11B Northeast division High School Football Friday night.

Carrington improves to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the northeast, PR drops to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the northeast.

The Cardinals scored four times before the Aggies got on the board. Clifton’s TD’s were from one, 12 and 25 yards out in the first half. The Aggies scored about half way through the third quarter when QB Avery Rosinsky ran in from three yards out on a QB keeper making the score 28-6.

The Cardinals would score three more times after the Aggies got their first touchdown of the game and the season. Sophomore QB Grady Shipman connected with Junior Hudson Schmitz for a 35-yard catch and run TD, Junior Jack Paulson nailed a 30-yard field goal and Freshman Corbin Clifton picked up a fumble for an 80-yard return.

Next up for Carrington will be at Grafton on Friday night for another northeast contest, KDAK will have the game starting about 630pm pregame.
