VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City defends their home court this evening by sweeping Wahpeton in 3 sets 26-24, 25-20,25-16.

The first set of the night was back and forth from the start. Valley City would hold a 24 to 20 lead as they were going for match point, only to have the Huskies mount a quick come back and tie things up at 24 a piece. Fortunately for Valley City, the Hi-Liners quickly rebounded to score the next 2 points and seal the win.

In the second set, the Hi-Liners would jump out to leads throughout, with the largest lead at 5. They would however allow Wahpeton to chip away at the deficits until finally pulling away for the 25 to 20 win.

In the third and final set of the evening, Valley City had their most complete and dominant set of the match, and at one point lead by 11 points. The Hi-Liners would close out the victory by a score of 25 to 16.

On the night, Valley City got great contributions from Seniors Dylann Diegel and Peyton Pederson, as well as Juniors Abbey Thornton and Samantha Hatcher.
