JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Roughrider Rodeo Finals will fill up the Stutsman County Fairgrounds this weekend on September 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
All season long, riders and ropers have competed statewide, starting April this year in Minot and look to finish with the finals this weekend in Jamestown.
Aaron Boerboom is the announcer for the event and says he looks forward to working the weekend-long event.
The top-10 in each category will compete in events that include:
Bareback
Saddle Bronc
Bull Riding
Calf Roping
Steer Wrestling
Team Roping
Barrel Race
Goat Tying
Breakaway
There will also be junior breakaway, bareback, saddle bronc, and bull riding competitions.
Beoerboom says not to be outdone, participants get to vote on the different livestock in each event, matching the top talent competitors with the top livestock available.
The rodeo will take place starting at 6 PM on September 3rd & 4th and again at 1 PM on September 5th. Cost is $12 for adult, $8 for kids 12 & under. There are also 3-day passes available for $30 an adult or $20 for kids 12 & under.
