BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School volleyball season began with a weekend full of matches as the Blue Jays went 6-1 at the Bismarck Public Schools East-West Crossover.
Jamestown opened up the first day of competition on Friday evening with three match victories, including sweeps of Valley City and Devils Lake. The Blue Jays rode that momentum from day one into day two with 3-0 wins over Fargo South, Fargo Davies, and Grand Forks Central before falling to West Fargo Sheyenne to end a busy weekend of volleyball. Jamestown’s 6-1 overall record was the second best of the Crossover behind Bismarck Century, who went 7-0.
The Blue Jays now open up the WDA season on Tuesday night when Jamestown travels to Turtle Mountain at 7 pm to take on the Braves. Jamestown was selected to finish second in the WDA in the preseason coaches poll while the Bravettes were picked last. The first home match of the season will be on Thursday night at Jerry Meyer Arena against Dickinson at 7 pm.
