JAMESTOWN, ND. (JimmiePride.com) – The University of Jamestown women’s golf team is in second place after the first day of the Jimmie Fall Invite, which began Sunday at Jamestown Country Club.
The UJ Orange team of Izzy Marchino (SR/Highlands Ranch, Colo.), Faith Justesen (SO/Hawley, Minn.), Jayme Carlson (JR/Hartford, S.D.), Kyra Vogel (FR/Jamestown, N.D.), and Haley Malone (JR/Moorhead, Minn.) finished at 70-over 358, 32 shots in back of Minot State, and 10 shots ahead of third-place Dickinson State.
Marchino shot a 13-over 85 for the best UJ round and sits in fourth place overall, followed by Justesen at 18-over 90 (T-8th), Carlson at 19-over 91 (T-11th), and Vogel at 20-over 92 (T-13th). Malone finished at 21-over 93 and is tied for 16th.
The UJ Black team is in fifth place at 95-over 383 and only eight shots back of Valley City State University.
Abby Gremaux (SR/Lewistown, Mont.) and Coley Olson (SO/Cook, Minn.) each shot 22-over 94 and are tied for 18th. Teagan Fee (JR/Havre, Mont.) is one shot behind at 23-over 95 in 20th place, and Olivia Wallace (SR/Park Rapids, Minn.) is at 28-over 100 in 23rd place. Sarah Azure (SR/Jamestown, N.D.) is tied for 25th at 32-over 104.
Competing as individuals, Ema Lee (SO/Casselton, N.D.) is tied for 13th after a 20-over 92, and Lauryn Hibl (FR/Jamestown, N.D.) is in 24th after a 30-over 102.
Anya Ross of Minot State had the top round Sunday, finishing at 6-over 78.
The tournament concludes Monday morning at 9 a.m.
