N.D. (AP) – Dry condition in North Dakota has helped the harvest of row crops but farmers and ranchers are worried about the lack of rainfall in the state.

The Agriculture Department says in its latest crop and weather report that 20 percent of the corn, 56 percent of the soybeans and 90 percent of the dry beans are in the bin.

But the report says the lack of precipitation is a problem. Topsoil moisture is 87 percent short or very short. Almost 65 percent of the pasture and rangeland in the state is in poor or very poor condition, and 62 percent of the stockwater supplies are rated short or very short.
