JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Heather McDougall says her interest in starting Bogobrush may have stemmed from her father’s career, but she says sustainability was a key factor in moving forward.

McDougall is a Jamestown native and CEO and co-founder of Bogobrush. The brush is designed using recycled plastics and is biodegradable, helping her and her brother achieve sustainability.

McDougall says more than one billion toothbrushes enter landfills and pollute natural habitats every year in the U.S.

From there, she says it’s created a channel for her to share her passion of sustainability. She acknowledges that for some, it may be a hot topic and sometimes controversial, but she speaks to truths not trends being a key to more sustainability around the world.

She says it can be overwhelming knowing where to start, but encourages you to let your curiosity lead you.
