GAME 1
Jamestown 2
Valley City 1
In a rematch of Friday night’s game that saw Jamestown win the close 1 to 0 game we had a replica fir the first game of the final day of the tournament. It was a classic pitchers duel on the mound as both starters brought their “A” game to try and advance to the championship game. Jamestown score 2 runs in the bottom half of the first inning to take a 2 to 0 lead. Isaac Mimong with a sacrifice fly bringing in a run, and Gage Orr an RBI single. That would be plenty for Jacoby Nold who was incredible on the mound. The right hander went 6 and two thirds allowing just 1 run while striking out 8. He was lifted with one out to go due to the pitch count. Jackson Walters came on in releif and gave up and RBI single to Mitchel Taylor. However, Walters would bear down and fan the next batter with the tying run on third base to win the game and advance to the championship game. On the mound for Valley City, Mitchel Taylor went 6 and a third only allowing 2 runs while striking out 2. Alex Thornton would throw two thirds of an inning in relief in the seventh inning, he picked up 1 strike out. Jamestown wins the 1 run ball game against the Royals for the second time this tournament to send Valley City home, and have the Eagles move on.

Caden Hocket would come to the plate and produce the big knock as the second baseman brought in 2 with ta single. That was more than enough for Hunter Wamre the Wahpeton starter. The tall right hander went the full 7 innings while only allowing 2 runs and striking out 6 Eagle batters picking up the win. The final batter of the game Mason Lunzman hit a hard ground ball to the first baseman Ethan Manock who’s momentum was carrying him away from the bag, but he would field the ball and sprint back to first sliding in feet first to beat the runner to the bag to clinch the championship for Wahpeton.
