CITY (NewsDakota.com)–The Viking golf team finished fourth at the one-day event hosted by the University of Minnesota-Morris in Morris, MN, yesterday.
Valley City State fired a team 326, four shots back of Jamestown College after finishing 43 shots behind the Jimmies a week ago at the VCSU Invitational in Mapleton.
Darren Young (Fr., Leeds, ND) led the Vikings with a 78, tied for fourth overall. Ryan LeNoue (Jr., Barnesville, MN) shot an 80, Ben Sorenson (Fr., Valley City, ND) an 82, and Casey Colemer (Sr., Gwinner, ND) and Matt Sorenson (Sr., Valley City, ND) each an 86.
Shane Ost (So., Valley City, ND) shot an 85 while golfing unattached, as the Vikings can only count five scored from golfers pre-determined before teeoff.
The Vikings wrap up their fall schedule with a two-day event at the Jamestown Country Club this weekend.
