JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Work is set to begin on the Eagle Flats Apartments in Jamestown at the end of July.

It was reported by Commonwealth Development Corporation that after lengthy predevelopment, they had officially closed on the project.

“We appreciate all your help in being able to bring this one to function and look forward to creating some much needed affordable housing to the Jamestown Community,” stated Tyler Sheeran, Development Associate for Commonwealth.

Jamestown City Building Inspector Tom Blackmore says baring any delays, they’ll begin seeing construction start the week of July 26th.

“The City of Jamestown has been working quite extensively with Commonwealth Development Corporation over the last three years to see this project come to fruition along with other entities such as Great Plains Housing Authority, HUD, First Community Credit Union and the Bank of North Dakota,” Blackmore stated.

“This project will be a very substantial development for the downtown district. There will be quite a bit of activity happening on and around the project site and we urge that the public use caution when in the area,” he added.

Eagle Flats will be a $12 million. four-story building with 33 affordable housing units. It will be built in the location of what is currently the vacant Eagles building.
