JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Historic 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse is the state’s oldest courthouse.

Site Supervisor Steve Reidburn says inside, renovations continue to bring new and exciting sights and sounds to the visiting public. One of the new ways they get people involved in the history is their new hands-on exhibit that was unveiled last summer.

Reidburn says in the updated courtroom on the second floor, they have more to explore.

Another way the courthouse brings in visitors new and old is their concerts. This year during Buffalo Days on Saturday, July 24th, they’ll invite Grant Invie to put on a free show on the Courthouse lawn starting at 1 PM.

Invie is a young performer that brings the traditional style from way back when to create an engaging experience for all ages. He will perform classic country music with hints of gospel and rock-and-roll, creating an engaging experience for all ages. Those attending are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair as seating will not be provided.

In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors.

The Stutsman County Courthouse is a state historic site managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. The site is open Wednesday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and closed Monday-Tuesday. For more information, visit history.nd.gov or call 701.328.1883.
