JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – James River Valley Library System (JRVLS) Director Joe Rector says they continue to evaluate COVID-19 restrictions at both libraries in Jamestown.
Rector says they’re relaxing some more restrictions going into the rest of summer.
Rector added that the board will continue to watch and decide what steps to take as the summer goes on.
Throughout the pandemic, Rector says they’ve taken steps and worked with the Friends of the Library to keep up service, including curbside book pickup and dropoff and booksale on the sidewalk.
Rector says the Friends of the Library are also helping establish the Library of Things at the Stutsman County Library.
He added that they’re also continuing to explore library expansion or a new library within the city.
Rector says they have now established a building committee and created a building fund with approval by the City of Jamestown and Stutsman County. Next, they’ll be exploring a space needs study and will conduct public meetings to get input.
