Joyce Adele Severson, 91, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on June 20, 2021.
Joyce was born September 24, 1929 in Valley City, ND. She attended school, married and raised a family in ND until moving to Scottsdale, AZ in 1965. Joyce and her husband Wayne eventually retired to Pine, AZ. Joyce was an avid sports fan and followed the Suns and Diamondbacks through both good and bad years. She was so dedicated that she even knew the names of the umpires!
In her retired life, Joyce became the resident pie maker for the Strawberry Lodge. People came from all over the state to eat and enjoy her pies. She was a wonderful, caring person with a great sense of humor. Joyce was a loving and dear mother, grandma, and great-grandma.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Wayne Severson, as well as their son, David Severson. Joyce leaves behind her daughter, Gail Boyer, and her son, Mark Severson, and her grandchildren: Troy Boyer, JoDee Pennock, Matt Boyer, Sarah Scott, Eric Severson, Chris Severson, Tisha Severson and Amber Clark. There are also 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson to cherish her memory in the years to come. We will all miss her.
