JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department is warning residents of a new high risk registered sex offender that is residing within the city of Jamestown.

35 year-old William James Gehlhoff currently resides at 1530 6th Ave SW #32. He is a 5’09”, 225 pound white male with hazel eyes and brown hair. He has been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakota risk level committee.

Gehlhoff has been charged with Possession of Material, Sex Conduct by Minor, and Promotion of Minor Obscene Sexual Performance in 2011. He was caught exchanging child pornography and chatting over the internet with a 16 year-old female. His computer showed seven images of child pornography including pictures of preeteen girls performing sex acts with adults. A second search found 300 images as well as 1,500 chat logs.

He was charged again in 2015 when 421 images of child pornography were found on his phone.

Gehloff is not currently wanted at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court. This notification is meant for public safety only and should not increase fear in the community. Any attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten an offender will be turned over for prosecution.
