JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Sophomore Anthony Hanson works six strong innings and Sophomore Connor Johnson comes in the top of the seventh inning and gets the last three outs as the Loboes of Lamoure/Litchville/Marion win 5-4 over the Muskrats of Renville County to advance to the State Class B High School Baseball Championship game for the first time in school history. No. 3 LLM improves to 18-2 overall, RC drops to 25-5 overall.
The Loboes scored one run in the second inning, one in the third and three in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead 5-1 after five innings. The Muskrats scored the next three runs including two in the top of the seventh, but the Loboes hold on for the victory. Hanson picks up the victory working six innings, 120 pitches, two earned runs, six strikeouts, five hits and six walks. Brock Depute suffers the loss, working six innings, five runs, three earned. Johnson had two hits at the plate and scored once.
Next up for the Loboes will be the state championship game Saturday night at Jack Brown Stadium in Jamestown at 630pm. Thunder Country 98.3 and newsdakota.com will have the coverage starting about 620p pregame. They will meet the winner of No. 1 Langdon Area/Edmore/Munich vs. No. 4 Thompson.
