(NewsDakota.com) Saturday May 22nd The Dakota Plains Realty High School Invitational Trap Shoot was held at the Horace Shooting Park in Horace, ND. Twenty Two High School Teams from Minnesota and North Dakota competed in the event. The chilly weather and moderately windy conditions did not impede these fine High School shooters from tallying impressive scores. Ten shooters from the Valley City High School Team competed and finished a impressive 2nd overall. Each team consists of up to ten shooters with the best eight scores comprising the team total.

Individual awards for High Gun Boy and Overall was Ashton Carlsrud from Ada-Borup with a perfect 100 of 100. High Gun Girl was Miranda Novodvorsky from South Prairie with an impressive 94 of 100.
The Valley City Hi Liners were lead by Mitchell Broadwell with a 98, Eric Ingstad with a 97, Evan Mielke 96, Ethan Bear 95, Emma Mielke 92, Kailer Logan 91, Talon Larson 84, Connor Remick 83 and Levi Trader and Paige Kaber rounded out the Hi Liner Team.
The Valley City Trap Team will compete at the North Dakota High School State Competition, the Skeet competition will be held Thursday June 17th and the Trap segment will be held Saturday and Sunday June 19th and 20th, with Valley City shooting on Saturday. Both events at the Horace Shooting Park, Horace, ND.
