Ellen “Bobby” Johnson, 71, Valley City, ND passed away, Wednesday, May 19, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family.

Ellen R. Anderson was born August 30, 1949, the daughter of Steve and Ellen (Skaro) Anderson, in Grand Forks, ND.  Growing up, Ellen attended school in Hensel, ND and graduated high school from Fargo North, in 1967.  Her life’s journey brought her from Grafton, ND to Sanborn, ND, where she raised her four children. Ellen helped her husband, Eric, begin his own construction business. She then went on to attend college in Moorhead, MN, where she obtained a degree as a legal assistant in 1992.  Ellen was an extremely hard worker spending many years at the Truck Stop in Tower City, ND and retiring after managing Stop-n-Go in Valley City in 2012.

Ellen is well-known for her Coca-Cola and cow collections, along with her love for Elvis Presley. She enjoyed crafting, reading, a good debate with family or friends, and shopping with her sister, Jeanette. She also enjoyed spending time with her dog, Daisy, and most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Ellen is survived by her children, Terry Johnson, Tamie Johnson (Noranne Zimmerman), Tim Johnson (Kerri and Savanah Dahl), Eric Johnson (Jasmine Rueckert and Larkin); grandchildren, Tiffany Johnson and Travis Johnson; great grand-daughter, Kianna Krall.  Ellen is also survived by her brother, Gerald (Harriet) Anderson; sisters, Gloria Kringstad, Deanna White, Jean Johnson, Jeanette (Dan) Gehlhoff, Bonnie Corneillie and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her dearly.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 25, 2021 in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Sanborn.  Inurnment will be held at Vidalin Icelandic Lutheran Church Cemetery, Mountain, ND at a later date.
