JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A program designed to remove all barriers for women who need mammograms, pap tests and advanced screening technology is making a return on June 15th.

Another way to reduce barriers is to offer flexible scheduling, transportation and financial support. That’s why R.M. Stoudt’s Running of the Pink event funds the No Excuses program.

Tara Kapp with R.M. Stoudt says the annual run has raised more than $163,000 for women’s care in the region.

No Excuses was formed in 2015 and has since assisted more than 100 women with screenings and other services they otherwise wouldn’t have due to time, finances, transportation or lack of insurance coverage.

Katie Ryan-Anderson with the JRMC says the program now serves 50 or more women a year. Because of the need, she added they would be doing a special No Excuses event on June 15th.

In an early study conducted by the Jamestown Regional Medical Center, it was found that nearly 50% of women in Stutsman County had not received a needed screening. The hope with No Excuses was to remove any barriers that might be the cause of that.

Ryan-Anderson added their newly introduced Gynecologist Dr. Gregg McAdoo and his experience will allow them to specialize in this care that might otherwise not be available locally.

No Excuses isn’t just for women who can’t afford it. Busy moms, grandmothers and professionals are also worthy candidates. That’s why No Excuses can accept patients into the evening. The Tuesday event will run from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Schedule a No Excuses appointment online or over the phone at (701) 952-5348. To schedule care for any other day, call (701) 952-4878 or request an appointment online.

The program is also accepting donations. All proceeds from the Running of the Pink will also be donated to the No Excuses program.
