JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – A pitching duel in game one and an extra-inning walk-off in game two provided an exciting afternoon at Trapper Field as Jamestown beat Minot 2-0 and 8-6 (9 in.) on Saturday.

Katie Falk pitched a complete game shutout in game one, striking out 11 Magician hitters and allowing just three hits. Jamestown capitalized off a first inning error by Minot that allowed Ella Roaldson to reach second base. Jenna Fischer doubled home Roaldson on the very next pitch to give the Jays a 1-0 advantage.

Fischer would bring in another during the fourth with a single after Roaldson doubled to lead off the inning. Jamestown ended game one with seven hits and six runners left on base. Falk, Roaldson, and Fischer all went 2-for-3 in the first game.

Game two started with a blast when Falk homered in the first inning to bring in three runs for Jamestown. The lead would increase to 4-0 in the second after Alyssa Gange doubled home Marin Rasmussen. Minot put up a run the third with a home run, but Fischer supplied her own solo shot to put Jamestown back ahead by four.

Minot would mount a comeback in the seventh, scoring four runs in the inning and take a 6-5 lead over the Blue Jays. Fischer would once again homer in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game and force extra innings. Senior Payton Gall shut down Minot in the eighth and ninth, and Jamestown would come to the plate with a chance to win the game.

Roaldson led off the ninth with a walk, and then Fischer stepped in and hit her third home run of the game to send Jamestown to victory and a sweep of Minot. Fischer finished the two games 5-for-7 with three home runs and five RBIs. Ella Falk went 1-for-3 with a walk, and Roaldson went 1-for-4 and also had a walk.

The Blue Jays are now 18-5 this season, and have a 13-3 conference record. Jamestown will play at Trapper Field for the final time on Monday at 4:30 when they host West Fargo.
