JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – City Cleanup Week is in full swing in Jamestown and Central Valley Health is taking time to remind residents to be mindful of car seat disposal.
Director of Health Promotions Shannon Klatt says there are steps to take to prepare a car seat for proper disposal.
Klatt says it may be tempting to take a disposed child car seat to save money, but you should be wary of a discarded car seat.
To discourage residents from taking a discarded car seat, Klatt says there are steps you can take when disposing of a seat. Or if you see a seat that needs to be properly disposed of, you can follow through with it.
She added there is a distribution program through Central Valley Health if they need assistance with acquiring a child safety seat.
Klatt stated there will also be car seat checks planned over the summer for parents and guardians to have their seats inspected and checked their hooked up properly.
