JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Tourism Board met Monday and discussed the possibility of a Community Impression program.

Using the NDSU Extension’s established program, Jamestown Tourism Executive Director Searle Swedlund asked the board their thoughts on if a similar program would be beneficial to the community.

Swedlund added that getting another set of eyes on the community and answering questions on items such as amenities, retail, community entrances, housing, businesses, downtown, and more and using that information to their benefit.

The board discussed finding a similar size community that they could swap participants with and make it beneficial for both entities. No decision was made, but Swedlund added they could further explore the program in the future.

Another discussion was held regarding potential for a Community Marketing video. Swedlund informed the board it could be used as a tool for a variety of different causes for Tourism and the community of Jamestown.

The board discussed the possible cost of such a project that would highlight the different events and community highlights, adding it could be used by employers and businesses to find employees or bring members to the community. No official action was taken at the meeting.
