ELLENDALE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Ellendale Cardinals hosted the Quarterback Club Invite on Saturday. The Cardinals and Oakes finished one-two in both the girls and the boys. Ellendale was first on the boys side while Oakes took first for the girls.

First place finishers for the Oakes boys, Alex Muggli took first in the shot put. He took second in the long jump with a jump of 21′ 31/2″. Jorgen Paulson of Edgeley-JKulm took first with a jump of 21’7″ which was a complex record and both jumpers qualified for state.

Landon Ptacek took first in the 100M with a time of 11:89. Joseph Heim was first in the 400M with a time of 56:07. Teammate Brandon Peters was second.

High Jump: Mason Molan – Ellendale – 5’6″

Triple Jump: Nick Hansen – Sargent County – 39’2″

300 Hurdles: Jeremiah Shockey – South Border – 54:10

4×200 Relay: LaMoure-Litchville-Marion – 1:41.57

1600M: Theo Thurber – Ellendale – 5:05.41

4×100 Relay: LaMoure-Litchville-Marion – 47:10

110M Hurdles: Gunner Thielges – LaMoure-Litchville-Marion – 21:02

800M: Josh Meyers – Ellendale – 2:20.84

200M: Nick Hansen – Sargent County – 24.16

3200M: Blake Odden – Strasburg – 12:26.09

4×400 Relay: LaMoure-Litchville-Marion – 3:51.84

For the girls, Sadie Hansen and Abby Cox qualified for state in one event each. Hansen set a complex record and qualified for state in the Shot Put with a throw of 38’1″. She also took first in the discuss with a toss of 109’10 1/2″ to set a complex record.

Cox set a complex record and qualified for state in the triple jump with a jump of 35′ 1 1/2″. She also took first in the 100M dash with a time of 13.32.

Emma Muggli took first in two events. The 300 Hurdles with a time of 50.52 and the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.85.

Laikyn Roney was first in the javelin with a throw of 96’3″.  The 4×800 Relay team took first with a time of 12:04.15.
