BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jays improved to 3-1 in WDA play on Thursday night in Bismarck as they split the doubleheader with Century, winning game one 11-1 before dropping the second game of the doubleheader 9-5.

Jamestown’s bats woke up in the fourth and fifth innings in game one against the Patriots by scoring eight runs in those two innings to take the lead in game one. Ella Roaldson had a big day at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs driven in and a double, and Jenna Fischer went 2-for-4 for the Blue Jays and with two runs brought in. In the circle, Katie Falk pitched a complete game, allowing five hits and one earned run while striking out two.

Game two for the Blue Jays started with a bang in the third when Jamestown poured on five runs. However, Century would respond with four runs of their own in the third, and go on to four more in the fourth to pull in front of the Jays. Century would score the last nine runs of game two to improve to 8-2 overall on the year and 1-1 in the WDA.

Jamestown returns to Trapper Field on Friday at 4:30 as they host Turtle Mountain for a conference doubleheader. The Blue Jays then take on Watford City Saturday beginning at 1 pm and continue their busy schedule next Monday and Tuesday on the road against Valley City and Bismarck Legacy.
