VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City hosted several schools for a Pop-Up track meet at the Dacotah Bank Track at Hanna Field.

It was a good day for the Hi-Liners nine meet 1st place finishes, 31 personal records, five new members of the the Valley City Outdoor Top 10 lists, and seven athletes that qualified for the State Track Meet.

Jaden Compson won the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Compson was also the anchor leg on the 4×100 meter relay team that qualified for the state meet. Other members of that relay are Evan Mielke, Austin Shape and Carter Borg. Shape and Compson had already qualified for state. Shape in the 100 and 200 Meter dash and Compson in the 100.

Jared Eggermont won the 110 meter hurdles. Eggermont had qualified for state in 11o at the Valley City Boys Invite.

Kael Grebel won the Javelin and in the process moved into 8th place in school history in the event with his throw of 162’10”. He also qualified for state.

Peyton Zaun won the high jump with a jump of 6’2″. That qualified him for state and moved into a tie for eighth place in school history. Zaun wasn’t through as he also qualified for state with his jump of 41’7″ in the triple jump, which also moved him into ninth place in school history. These are the second and third events that Zaun has qualified for state in. At the VC Invite, he qualified in the long jump.

On the girls side, Avery Murray won the 400 meter dash. Greta Goven won the 800 and 1600 meter runs. He time in the 1600, 5:31.06 put her eighth in school history.

Maggie Dockter won the high jump. Jocey Kriewald won the triple jump and Olivia Olson won the pole vault. He vault if t 8’09” is the second best in school history.
