Deb Egan, 67, Wimbledon, ND passed away at her home while under the care of her family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.  A celebration of her life will be held on the farm later in the spring.

Deb was born March 22, 1954 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo, ND to John H. and Eileen (Goeller) Vandrovec.  She grew up in the Rogers, ND area and graduated from North Central of Barnes.  Deb attended Valley City State University in Valle City, ND.

On February 20, 1987 she married Willilam “Bill” Egan in Aberdeen, SD.  Deb worked as the Sanborn City Auditor; for 12 years as the business manager at North Central of Barnes School; a few years as the bookkeeper at Rogers Fertilizer; business manager for 12 years at the Jamestown Sun; and retired from the Open Door Center in Valley City on June 30, 2020.

Deb’s greatest success story in life were her kids, who then gave her 10 grandkids to cherish and love. She enjoyed making unique Christmas presents for them each year, including the poppers filled with candy. Deb enjoyed spending time on the farm with her horses, miniature donkeys, and chickens. She was incredibly talented with her sewing machine and always willing to help out with her family’s wish lists. She also made incredible origami pieces.  Deb was the glue of her family, always ensuring her kids would get along, and when they didn’t, would say “you guys!” Deb instilled in her kids the importance of hard work, perseverance, and when things don’t always go your way…”that happens.”

Deb is survived by her husband, Bill; children, Dawne (Ryan) Schmid, Jayme (Jessica) Duffy, Benj (Tonya) Duffy, and Kary (Bobby) Mittleider; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Gary (Cathy) Vandrovec, David (Linda) Vandrovec, Rita Vandrovec, Kay (Ron) Silk, and John Vandrovec; as well as namy nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
