JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department was called out Monday morning to a shorted out utility pole.

The department was called out after 6 AM to a smoldering utility pole in front of 817 17th Street Southeast. The report says the incident was started by rain shorting out the wires. Damage was contained to the utility pole and crews remained on scene until Otter Tail Power arrived.

24 fire fighters and three units were on scene for about an hour.
