N.D. (AP) – A two-alarm fire has destroyed an apartment building under construction in north Fargo.
KFGO radio reports there were no apparent injuries in the blaze that was called in about 4:30 a.m. Friday.
Assistant Fire Chief Steve Balstad says most of the large structure was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived and went into full defensive mode. The building appears to be a total loss.
Flames spread quickly, but firefighters had most of them extinguished within a half hour.
Tenants of a nearby four-story apartment building were evacuated as a precaution, but they were allowed to return about 90 minutes later.
The cause is under investigation.
