SANBORN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Area fire fighters responded to several grass fires in Barnes County on Thursday, April 8th.
Sanborn Fire Chief Tim Schwehr said they protected a farmstead and machinery along North Dakota Highway One northeast of Sanborn.
Schwehr said no injuries or structural damage was reported in the grass fire. He said fire fighters were on the scene for more than seven hours.
Further north along Highway One members of the Valley City Rural Fire District responded to two grass fires according to Fire Chief Scott Magnuson.
No injuries or structural damage was reported in either grass fire.
And further north along Highway One, the Dazey Fire Department responded to a grass fire. The cause of these grass fires is under investigation. A burn ban is in effect for all of Barnes County and all fire fighters are asking the public to please refrain from burning anything until further notice.
