Logan-Ross Motter with his drop boxes for his Eagle Scout Project
JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A local Boy Scout is close to obtaining the highest honor in the organization and is seeking public support to do it.
Logan-Ross Motter is with Troop 163 in Jamestown. Having been involved in Boy Scouts since Kindergarten, the 16 year-old is on a mission to complete his Eagle Scout rank with a project he put together with assistance from his mom.
According to the Boy Scouts of America, in 2019 only 8% percent of all Scouts BSA earned the Eagle Scout rank. In 2019, the average age of youth earning the Eagle Scout rank was 17.3 years of age.
Motter says the support has been tremendous for his project. With only two drop-off locations in Jamestown, a social media post quickly expanded those sites to 7 with more in the works.
Motter says he would like to setup more donation sites. Everything from new and gently used sweatpants, sweatshirts, t-shirts, coats, hats, and gloves will be accepted. Underwear, socks, and shoes must be new.
Monetary donations are also welcome and will be used to cover project expenses and purchase additional items for donation.
