JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department has resumed normal trainings and inspections in the city this month.

Jamestown Fire Chief Jim Reuther reports that the department recently held drills and their regularly scheduled Monday trainings. He says they’ve also resumed their fourth Monday monthly meetings.

He says a majority of his staff has also been vaccinated for COVID-19.

Reuther says inspections are also proceeding as normal with two members of the department conducting those.

He added that with dry conditions, they’ve been answering a lot of questions regarding open fire pits.

He reports they are also coordinating with the Jamestown Rural Fire Department for mutual aid in the event they’re needed.

Ruether later reported that their new Jaws of Life equipment was in and training has been completed.
