CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Carrington is continuing to explore consolidating several entities into one group to better serve the area.

Mayor Tom Erdmann reports during their recent city council meeting, discussion on combining the Carrington Chamber of Commerce, Carrington Development Corporation, and Economic Development Board took place.

Erdmann says their goal with combining those entities would meet what residents said they would like to see in a recent survey.

In other city news and information, Erdmann says they’re continuing their police chief search. In public works, Ottertail Power Company continues to update city lights with roughly 85% of the lights having been upgraded to LED.

Erdmann says they also addressed recent water main breaks.

With the mask mandate, Erdmann says it has been lifted in conjunction with the state of North Dakota.
