JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – At the conclusion of the region tournament on Saturday, three Jamestown girls and two boys earned All-WDA honors for the season.

On the girls’ side, senior Grace Hegerle was named All-WDA for the second year, and junior Annie Nabwe as well as sophomore Ella Falk made the list for the first time.

Hegerle led the Blue Jays in scoring this season, averaging just below 14 points per game, good for 10th in the WDA. Nabwe was the conference leader in rebounds right near 10 per game, which was two rebounds more than anyone else on average. Falk led the WDA in assists per game for the second consecutive season, ending the year at 5.9 per game.

In WDA boys basketball, seniors Brooks Carroll and Carson Lamp received all-conference notoriety for Jamestown. Lamp was the leading point scorer for the Jays in 2021, scoring 18.4 points per game. He also was the leading free-throw shooter for Jamestown at 81% and was tied with Carroll in three-point field goal percentage at 41%. Carroll helped lead the Jays on the glass, bringing in more than seven rebounds per game.

Both Lamp and Carroll will continue their basketball careers at the NAIA level. Lamp is set to play at Concordia College (MN) and Carroll will play for the Jimmies. Grace Hegerle will continue her career in collegiate volleyball, playing for her father Jon at UJ.
