VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – With the conclusion of the Eastern Dakota Conference basketball tournaments comes the post season awards. The Valley City Hi-Liners had three honors handed out on Saturday. Jadyn Dieterle and Peyton Zaun received All-EDC Team honors and Activities Director Mike Schultz was named Athletic Director Of The Year.

Dieterle, a senior guard, was named to the All-EDC team for a second year in a row. She was second in the conference in assists (5.4 apg) and steals (4.2 spg). She led the Hi-Liners in free throws made (84) and attempted (126), assists (128), and steals (89). She finshed third in rebounds (113) and second in points (262) and points per game (11.4 ppg). Dieterle set the team career steals and assists records this season.

Zaun, a senior guard, was named to the All-EDC team for a second straight year. He was eighth in the conference in scoring (17.7 ppg) and free throw percentage (73.9). He was fifth in the conference in steals (2.5 spg) and third in blocked shots (1.3 bpg). Zaun led the Hi-Liners in many categories including; scoring (13.4 ppg), Field Goals Made (138), 3-pointers made (39), free throws made (56), assists (57), blocks (27) and steals (55). Zaun was third on the team in rebounding as well (71).

And Mike Schultz was named Athletic Director of the Year in the Eastern Dakota Conference. Schultz is in his fourth year as AD for Valley City.

The All-EDC team is voted on by the conference coaches a the Athletic Director Of the Year is voted on by the conference Activities Directors.
