FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The future of the Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo once again is uncertain.

Danny Schatz and the Valley Racing Group say they will not be renewing the lease agreement with the Red River Valley Fair Association to operate the speedway. Schatz, the father of World of Outlaws sprint car champion Donny Schatz, rescued the track when the Fair Association stopped operating it in 2009 because of financial problems.

Donny Schatz races for Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart, and Stewart has made racing appearances at the Fargotrack the last three years.

Fair Association General Manager Bryan Schulz says if Valley Racing Group backs out, the association will not actively look for someone to take over operations at the three-eighths-of-a-mile dirt track.
