The tournament was decreased from 64 to 48 teams this year, and there will be just three teams per pod. Jamestown will compete in an opening-round game against #3 seeded Bellevue from the Jimmies former conference, the NSAA. All games will take place at the Sokol Arena in Omaha, and game times are still to be determined.

The winner of the opening round will face #1 seed LSU-Shreveport to move on to the round of 16 and the final site in Kansas City. The Jimmies made it to the round of 16 two seasons ago before being beat by eventual champs Spring Arbor.
Shreveport finished as the #3 ranked team in the final NAIA poll of the season. The Pilots went 16-1 on the season, and they will be playing in the national tournament for the 17th consecutive season.
