WEST FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – West Fargo used an 11-0 between the end of the first half and into the second half, plus a stifling defense in the second half to pull out a 67-43 win over Valley City in the Eastern Dakota Conference girls basketball tournament loser out game.

The Hi-Liners got off to a good start, leading the home team Packers 10-4 early. The first half saw two ties and five lead changes before the Packers scored the last six points of the half for a 27-23 lead.

The Packers would start the second half on an 8-2 run to open up a ten point lead, 35-25. The Hi-Liners would keep it between that eight and 12 point margin for most of the second half until West Fargo slowly but surely pulled away for the 24 point win.

The Hi-Liners were led by Dylann Diegel with nine points. Brooke Eggermont had eight points. Jadyn Dieterle had six points and four rebounds. Hailey Thoreson had five points and four rebounds. Peyton Pederson had four points, five rebounds and three steals.

The Packers were led by Chloe Pfau with 18 points, five assists and eight steals before fouling out. Miriley Simon had 14 points and a game high eight rebounds. Taylor Van Winkle had 11 points, five rebounds and three assists. Ashlyn Diemert had 10 points, five rebounds and three steals. Brynn Giesn chipped in a game high six assists.

Valley City ends the season 10-13 while West Fargo improves to 15-8. They will play eight Fargo Davies and Devils Lake in a State qualifying game Saturday at 11:45 at the Scheels Center at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex.
