JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Snow geese are expected to begin arriving in the state as spring nears.

Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier reports that those interested in hunting snow geese need to get a new HIP number every year.

The spring light goose conservation order runs through May 9th.

Nonresidents need a 2021 spring light goose conservation order license. The cost is $50 and is valid statewide. Nonresidents who hunt in spring remain eligible to buy a fall season license. The spring license does not count against the 14-day fall waterfowl hunting season regulation.

Leier says with warmer that normal temperatures this spring, ice houses should be on anglers minds.

Leier says they also continue to monitor legislation involving Game & Fish and the outdoors. One such bill involves electronic posting. You can get more information at gf.nd.gov/legislation.
